Pulmonary Thrombosis in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome: Theory, Evidence, and Clinical Relevance to Resource-Limited Settings

چکیده
Thrombosis is often seen in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients, increasing morbidity and mortality. This review highlights the pathophysiology of ARDS how it links to pulmonary thrombosis. Understanding this link furthermore critical as thrombosis a serious issue coronavirus diseases, such COVID-19. There clear between defined by “two-path unifying theory” “two-activation theory endothelium”. Interestingly, influenza versus COVID-19 patients have slightly different pathophysiology, latter having more compact fibrin clots that are difficult dissolve; will impact treatment patients. We therefore also reviewed current options, underlining potentially life-saving thrombosis-screening procedures could be lacking resource-limited settings, needing redress.

Pulmonary hypertension due to acute respiratory distress syndrome
Our aims were to describe the prevalence of pulmonary hypertension in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), to characterize their hemodynamic cardiopulmonary profiles, and to correlate these parameters with outcome. All consecutive patients over 16 years of age who were in the intensive care unit with a diagnosis of ARDS and an in situ pulmonary artery catheter for hemodynam...
متن کاملAcute respiratory distress syndrome: A clinical review
The acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a complex disorder of heterogeneous etiologies characterized by a consistent, recognizable pattern of lung injury. Extensive epidemiologic studies and clinical intervention trials have been conducted to address the high mortality of this disorder and have provided significant insight into the complexity of studying new therapies for this conditi...
متن کاملValidity of Spo2/Fio2 Ratio in Detection of Acute Lung Injury and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
Introduction: One ofdiagnostic criteria for Acute Lung Injury and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome is pao2/fio2 (PF) ratio 300 for ALI or 200 for ARDS. This criteria requires invasive arterial sampling. Measurement of Spo2/Fio2 (SF) ratio by pulseoximetry may be a reliable non invasive alternative to the PF ratio. Methods and Materials: In a cross sectional study we enrolled 105 sample o...
متن کاملRecruitment in Pulmonary and Extrapulmonary Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
IN this issue of ANESTHESIOLOGY, Thille and an international group of coworkers recognized for their expertise in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) bring convincing evidence that positive end-expiratory pressure– induced alveolar recruitment does not differ between patients with pulmonary and extrapulmonary ARDS. The authors recommend that the origin of ARDS should not influence select...
